few quick questions

where is the cheapest place to get steel balls for weights on a flypress-arond 6" diameter

what is the punch called that you place in a hole and push the collar of it down to make sure it is in the centre then hit it to transfer the marks to a second sheet-its not a transfer punch

thought it was a transfer punch but ebay and google just kept throwing up sets of punches

any idea what i could type in to google to get some other similar ones

could use a 6" round bar but i want to try and keep it original if poss

You could make your own balls from lead, i've also seen steel tube filled with concrete.

is concrete as heavy as mild stell

i cant imagine so so how long would i have to cut a 6" round bar to get it to be the same weight as a round ball when filled with concret

around 10" ???????

You can buy steel balls of various sizes from Brindleys, About £20 each you'll need to drill them though,
The proper flypress weights are cast with a square hole in them, I have made them from a stack of profiled plates tacked together, like a stack of large washers made from heavy plate.
A 150mm dia ball will weigh about 14.5 kg
150mm dia solid bar is 139kg / metre
