Currently I have a crappy wooden panel fence trying to stop up to 18 inches height of my garden from falling onto my neighbours. It's been there a while but doesn't look healthy especially now the posts have rotten.
Around the corner I've just installed one of those 1.8m concrete post fences with 3m arris rails and close boarding. It looks fabulous and I would like to have something similar to replace the crappy fence that acts as a retaining wall.
What is the form for fencing that acts as a retaining wall? Wood panel fences definitely don't work. My thought was using concrete gravel boards and maybe put a short post in the middle of the 3m span to help support them.
Also for the fence I just built I put the end post at the boundary so I can connect the new fence to it at right angles. But the post is 12 inches too high for the new fence. Would it be better to move the post I just put in and add another post behind it for the new fence? Alternative would be creating new holes in the post for the new fence or using some horrid metal fixings.
