Hi,
I just bought a used tetrix, newer used one before and wondering when should the fan start? When i turn it on it does not and i did some test welding (very minimal) and no fan. No error codes.
They are very tolerant of heat, I had mine in use the other day running welds at 150A - the workshop was around 43-44 degrees C - and the fan only came on after a couple of hours.
I have a Triton 160 DC Andreas, also second hand, and had exactly the same thought that it was faulty somehow as the fan never came on. It was only when I welded for extended stints at 140A+ that it did finally kick in. I’d say yours is working as it should be
To test the fan run the set on a high amperage for bunch of minutes. I don’t think the process will matter, more that you’re using high power for a reasonable chunk of time.
A few more questions, been testing the machine and i think its really nice, but shortly after arc initiation it makes a beep for maybe 1-2 seconds, is that normal? And activ arc, when in AC mode it really balls my tungsten nearly consuming it (maybe activ arc is not intended for AC?).
