Evening all..Been practicing Ac Tig for abt a week now, so please be gentle. My idea was to get some hood time before I asked for any critic as initially I felt I had beginners luck with a few beads. Now I have used 50 bar messing around with a little steel and lots of 2mm Ali I'm willing to show and have you tell! I got fed up doing bead on plate and I think a lot of what I would like to do will be boxes and tanks and the like with some fittings attached, so I thought I would knock up a piece out of scrap throw a plug in it and see if it's air tight. Have concluded that it is to 2 bar so I'm happy. With lots of Tungsten touches and a few regrinds the learn has begun.
On the last piece I managed to blow a hole while making a plug seat...having tried to ho over it again and again I noticed every time carbon and debris and would not fill. So 1 question when making a tank of said type with the expansion and contraction of the material is it possible to make a sealed box or is the material creating a pressure increase ? In plumbing if there were moisture steam would create and would find it somewhat difficult.
