This might be one for @Brad93. Is there any disadvantage going with Autorod 12.51 over the basic G3Si for general fab work? They appear to be available at essentially the same price, which is slightly odd as I was under the impression the 12.51 was the better product. I've been using Bohler SG2 and fancied trying something different for no real reason.
12.51 is a better product. Made in Czech Republic, Vamberg. More classifications and approvals, should be better mechanicals and may be CTOD tested etc. You should be able to see the winding is better on the 12.51. WeldG3Si is Chinese. Should be a big price difference between the two. 12.50 is a great wire but doesn’t do liners any good in my opinion and you won’t see the benefits unless automated.
Thanks Brad, I'll go for the 12.51 - price difference is only £0.76 more on a 15kg basket. Hopefully they actually mean 15kg and not 5kg.
