Engine oil spec

ok so I already have about 10 litres of chevron 10w40 oil API SL/CF.
The car needs API SG,SH or SJ.
I'm assuming that oil is ok as its higher rated than needed ????
It's only for an 02 reg almera so nowt special

SL is higher spec than (and backwards compatible with) SG, SH and SJ. As Andy says, it'll be fine.
