So after a few years of wanting one ive finally got ahold of a vertical mill. originally i was looking for a project bridgeport simply because they are common and bits are easy to get. but after watching a project one with chunks broken out of the T slots and zero tooling go for almost a grand i decided that was off the cards.
not long after this Victoria V2 popped up for much cheapness, it had also been converted to 240v ( using something high power enough to flicker the lights when i switch it on ) which cut out the need for the cost of a rotary converter ( and the time spent diy wiring one up ). it is a bit of a project, the table end bracket had a crack through it, which ive managed to weld back together ( which welded wierdly well for cast iron) until i can get another, the worm feed box for the table power feed has a crack running around it, to make that worse its also what bolts to the Y axis lead screw nut which is giving me a fair bit of backlash, and the shaft from the gearbox to the table power feed shaft is missing, so i currently have no table powerfeeds.
Upside is, it cuts! i have used it to bully some poor bits of offcut steel box and it came with a pile of tooling. its first real job was to flatten out my cars turbocharger manifold as it had taken a bit of a warp in welding. im still playing about with it to get used to how everything works. but the plan is to try and replace the damaged bracket/ worm drive box. come up with a power shaft and then use it for mostly car related stuff as thats what i spend most of my time doing outside of uni.
anyways sorry for the long first post, heres some pictures.
if anyone has any parts for this mill please let me know as theres a couple of bits i need as ive said earlier.
