i am trying to prototype a simple rocket stove. We have a simple 2 tube affair so far. I can’t get it to work well, principally because I don’t have a good air flow I suspect.
As a first improvement I think I need a rudimentary grate of say 3 (4?) 10mm rods to stop the fuel falling in too far and also I need to split the feed tube into an upper fuel chute and lower air chute which sits below the grate level so that air rushes up through the fuel to create a good burn. I also thought I should put a lid on the fuel chute to minimise the air that gets in down the fuel chute. Do you think those mods would help make it effective?
I also wonder about the feed tube angle which is currently 30 degrees - too shallow/ vertical?
Anything else that I should do apart from start again!
Thanks - just doing this as a bit of a project with my daughter so it will just be used to boil water and making s’mores.
