Hi Folks.
First time here!

First time here!
I have been given an ElectroWeld mig 2000. There is virually no mention of this welder seaching on google. The wire feed motor does not get enough current to run. I spent a few evenings searching the forum for potential fixes and have found/ done the following:
- For reference, it seems to be internally identical to a Clarke 150TE. Uses the same controller PCB.
- It has a one trigger wire torch. Relay engages when pressed. Wire feed motor runs fine with battery 12v applied to it. Motor is rated at 24v.
- Checked the PCB and all connections/switches seem good. That includes the PCB transformer and relay. Cleaned the contacts on the relay. The only thing that is off is the potentiometer. I shorted the middle leg to to an outside leg to check with the torch trigger presed and it spun the wire feed motor.
- Am I correct to think the potentiometer is broken and should be replaced? The wire feed potentiometer has 1KA written on it, nothing else. Am I correct to assume this a 1 Kohm rating?
- While testing for spark, I noticed that the machine will arc without pressing torch switch. Is this normal? I was not under the impression this was a live torch machine.
