Wonder if one of you guys with electronics knowledge can advise me about this circuit for a PWM speed controller please. It seems a nice little unit but has a max of 6amps and I'd like more output power.
I have some Tip35c's and wonder if I could substitute one of them for the Tip122 in the unit.
I know they are different components as the 122 is a darlington pair and the 35c a standard power transistor but can't see an obvious problem swapping them????
This is all because I had a funny half hour and bought a SIP autoplus yesterday. Don't need it and know full well it's a pretty mediocre machine (but better than the Topmigs etc.) but it has a really nice wire drive unit and well.....can't think of a sensible reason for buying it frankly except I'd like to fettle it a bit and make it gooder!
Had a Topmig and enjoyed simple mods to that (strap, seperate PSU etc) so hope to go a bit further with this one.
If transistor swap is not a goer I'll find a higher power PWM unit but cheaper is better so the swap would be idea.
Thanks
John
