I need to zinc electroplate a roller frame that has a pair of stainless steel plates welded to a mild steel connecting rod. My question is will the zinc plating stick to the stainless steel as well as the mild steel rod, and if it does, will it be a good bond or will it just rub off.
I won't be too worried if it does rub off the stainless, as the main purpose is to coat the mild steel rod before painting it. Not too fussed about looks.
Also what happens to the plating process if the voltage or the amperage is too high?
Cheers
