I need to get into welding again as I would like to start restoring a 2cv, with very thin metal.
I have done a little bit at college but am very much a beginner.
I have acquired an Einhell 161/1, the welder has feed rate (and auto feed) and current setting but very little else. Apparently the machine was used quite a bit before I got hold of it.
Looking at the serial number the machine is potentially about 35 years old, parts and manuals seem to be very scarce as it does not use a euro torch.
Is it worth trying to learn with this/refurbing it or would it be better and easier to start again. My course was 20 odd years ago, I am guessing the technology may have significantly improved since then.
I anyone has access to a manual that would cover this machine, it would be very greatly appreciated.
What should be replaced for the best outcome. Gas will be Argon/CO2.
