ok, not a compressor issue but looked the best place to post this,
I have bought a (cheap) double acting hydraulic pump, same looking unit as the one on my car lift but double acting,
I want to electrify my 60 ton press, I often need two hands and also find it awkward to operate the hand pump these days, must stop falling of motorcycles, the issue is that the current ram is a 5" single acting job, if I run one hose to the ram can I release the pressure by energising the solenoid without running the pump motor (maybe a diode?) or would I need to fit a dump solenoid on the press with a hose back to the tank? eventually I want to fit a double acting ram, when I find a cheap one, maybe 3" would do as I rarely if ever go over 20 tons by hand, will post a picture of the pump tomorrow, p.s. I know about as much about hydraulics as I do TIG welding!
