I know some stuff about CNC, but not much about lasers.
So, the CNC side of things I'm fine with (the machine that cut the part in my avatar, and all similar bits I've posted photos of over the years, was built by me) but the laser bit...
I'd like to be able to cut up to 3mm aluminium sheet, accurately. Really, I'd want to be within +/- 0.1mm. 0.2 I could live with, but I'd rather spend for greater accuracy.
I don't even know how these things work - is the laser moved, or a prism / mirror, or...
This is my very first post on the subject. I'm aware that this will cost £1000s but I just have no real idea how many!
Any rough guidance?
