hello all this is a very interesting forum for a novice, if one were to purchase say a clarke or simular mig welder , these have the option of using gas or gasless,
if using gasless mode , i assume you purchase flux cored wire for use with mild steel for basic car body work (sills etc)
if using gas the gas shields the area you are welding?? so do you use a differant wire , are results differant on the same materia gas,or non gas.
i am assuming gasless mode is simular to arc welding, but the wire feeds through the mig torch.
in general how long does a canister of gas last, if running 1inch long welds on say car sills 1.2mm thick
thank you
