Running 64 bit.....Go to the crucial memory website and run the system scan, it will tell you what type of rame you need, either order from there or ebay it. Can't imagine it will be to expensive. What operating system are you running as ddr2 is fairly old and old non 64bit operating systems limit you to 3.5gb (4gb)

Where is the best place to get a couple of 4 Gig sticks of Desktop memory.
Prefer Corsair but if it works in my Mobo I will take anything. Lol
Think you may have read it wrong mate.plenty of weird random chinese brands on ebay... cheap enough to give a try and you'll get your money back if it's crap

(this one is weirdly £35 for 1 4gb stick, or £18 for 2x4gb?)
I missed this one by being stingyhes running windows 7
ebay is only 2x2gb ram or 4 x 2gb sticks
for 8gb its a quad stick only other option server memory but you loose timings as drops to 557 roughly compared to 800s
it will be very hard to find anywhere that will sell the ddr2 over 2gb sticks and more so in a dual config
Think 2009 I moved to i7 and ddr3 possibly earlier.I'm not one to jump on the latest and greatest bandwagon but ddr2 is seriously old now, tech moves on and with PCs it's usually for the better

but to be honest reading all your replies and some reviews I am trying to upgrade an antiquated system and I will most likely find a Mobo and ram package for not much more...so will take a look around.
I was only adding ram since I stopped a few programs running at boot up the system has been flying with no slow down and fusion 360 has been a joy to mess about with.
Thank all of you for your help.
And cpuid or is it cpuz been a long time since I had an interest.but that only gives whats installed on your pc slim
part of reason why ive advised the program gpuz goes even deeper on what you have installed on your pc
