As my freehand cutting could, as my schoolteachers often used to say, 'use some improvement' I want to make a couple of cutting guides for chopping up some RSJs I've acquired for a mill stand. Said RSJs are both 125mm and 180mm (I think) section, so I'd like to make a square to cut across the flat faces and a shaped guide for the vertical bit of the I-shape (the valley?). I don't have access to a bandsaw, at least one which will cut through anything larger than say 25mm ERW tube without struggling, and at home the grinder'll be a tad noisy so the plasma looks the best route.
Will I get on OK using MDF to make the guides or will this just catch fire?
