Finished off the service of my wifes Corsa yesterday by looking at the back drum brakes. I took each wheel off, undid the screws and slipped off the drum. The shoes were fine so back on with drum, screws and wheel and did the same to the other side.
The other problem it had was that the engine management light was on. So I plugged in my code reader, saw it was the code for the map sensor and as it was down the back of the manifold, removed the sensor, got the number off it and replaced it.
I cancelled the codes, I started it, turned it off, and that was that.......well until I went to wash it late this afternoon. I jumped in it started it and drove it forwards down the drive and whooaaa, no brakes!! Stopped it by the handbrake. What I mean was the pedal was right at the top and solid, no movement at all.
So, as I did not touch any part of the shoes mechanism, just slipped off the drums and then straightaway put them back on, I shouldnt have a problem there, have I inadvertently ******** up something like the abs or whatever with the code reader that is causing the pedal to be stuck up the top?
