I've made a wee start on converting from old SUs on my 2l Volvo Amazon to R1 bike carbs. I'm doing a lot of other work on the car at the moment so the plan is to just get the carbs in and roughly set up for now and properly tune later. I installed a megajolt ignition system which currently uses MPS takes from the carb inlet, will be changing to TPS from the bike carbs and should be a straight forward change. Boggs Brothers are making me an inlet manifold and I still need to sort out an air box for the inlet. I set-up the carbs today to what should be a reasonable starting point; 3 notches from bottom for the needle (mine is aftermarket, should be 5 notes and set to the middle notch but mine has 6 notches), drilled out the main jets to 1.8mm (again it had an aftermarket main jet) and wound out the mixture screws 3 turns. Someone has obvioulsy fitted a tuning set sometime in the past to the carbs so not sure if anything else has been modified, hopefully shouldn't cause me any issues later on when setting the carbs up properly.
