My first post so 'hello' to all.
I've done lots of DIY welding over the years although my little mig gets very little use. My buddy has greay reliability from his SIP on gasless wire but has had to reverse the wire polarity. Can anyone explain why this is neccessary, please?
I looked at converting my Sealey, just for the convenience of not having a bottle, but although it is within my competence to cut and recrimp the feeds safely and also swap to a 1mm tip, I am inquisitive as to why this polarity swap is standard proceedure.
I did try it with normal polarity and the welds were rubbish with lots of spatter.
Regards to all,
John
