been doing a bit if welding and doing ok, anyhow i decided to do a college course and sign up next week to learn " properly" . The mrs got me a second hand book which goes pretty indepth ( although it states its a basic book) anyhow iv read a section and from what i can gather the basic welding which many do is called dip transfer, the book states dip transfer mode contact tip should protrude between 2-8mm from nozzle. Iv not seen a set up like this on any mig set iv seen .. "if" my mates arein fact dip transfer welding and have the tip inside the nozzle have they got the tip set " wrong" is in fact a protruding tip correct or have i read wrong ?
