Connecting the free 390g co2 bottle

Hi,

Just bought a new Clarke 135TE and it comes with a 390g co2 bottle that I've mounted it in place now. The regulator is fitted and the white pipe connected to the regulator. The regulator is in the 0 position which is off. My question is , what is the possibility of it leaking? Also if it was accidentally moved to an on position , would it just leak and be a hazard then or would it just fill the tube up and be ready until i next weld?

On these disposable bottles, the valve is actually the pin in the cylinder, it's very similar to the shrader valve you'd find on your average car tyre.

It's fairly unlikely it'd leak, and if it did, the quantity, and type of gas that's in it means there isn't really a hazard.

If you left it on, you'd probably find the valve in the welder and gas connections would leak a little, you'd just be wasting gas.

If you do any volume of welding, I suspect you'll be onto larger non disposables before you know it.
