    Evening guys.
Thought I would share some pictures of what was Colchester lathes before it sadly burnt down. Now home to a faffing Tesco supermarket. My grandad occasionally worked in there painting things. Not sure if it was lathes or the machines that built the lathes, he sprayed cars mainly but he definitely mentioned having some jobs there.

Using Firefox in Win 10 there are no pictures in your post, it might be a forum glitch, I will try another browser.

    Shame about the old place.
But Colchester are still going strong thankfully.

I can see them using Edge how odd.
I guess the 'faffing great Tesco' is the one down the road from the Uni where my eldest started his Bio chemistry degree this year.

I've just reported my post so hopefully one of the mods / admin can have a look at missing pictures in Fire fox.

I'm using win 10 and firefox and can see the pictures, I would guess at a problem your end rather than the forum, also checked it using the android version of firefox, and chrome on two devices and all is ok

Thanks for checking Paul. I have had a play with settings, if I refresh the thread they appearer as what look like links but disappear in a fraction of a second almost like a blocked pop up, and turning addblocker plus off solves the problem.

Yes @Paul. now that I have disabled ABP but if I refresh with ABP on it disappears. The question has to be why is a attachment hosted by MWF appearing like a pop up / ad. I have a feeling it is the file name which has underscore facebook hyphen jpg within the file name ( that was from memory, I looked at it a couple of hours ago)

Cannot say i like colchesters lathes much, but its always sad to see a factory derelict. There seems to be a mindset in the UK that manufacturing is the work of the devil, where as in Germany, its supported and encouraged more.

Another old factory video, this one is Alfred Herbert in Coventry. What stands there now ? Another tesco ? A boring shopping centre ?
