co2 fire extinguisher bottle

Hi all.
I have a co2 bottle and now have my regulator from weldequip and had a first try with them, doing okay but need some practice yet.
When I got my extinguisher the operator said that instead of using it up-ended I could lay it on it's side, that way the gas and not liquid would come through the inner tube, would this be okay?

I use mine upside down with out any problem. This helps the regulator not to freeze so quickly. Also use just enough flow for the job as this helps also.

I'm setting it to 10L/min just now, my first weld was pretty good but trying a butt weld was real poor! When I went to change from the 8mm wire fitted, to 6mm the wheel on the tensioner was already on the 6mm groove and I'm finding the wire is slipping at times. I will try more in the next few days and set the tensioner better hopefully but wonder if it could be worn by it's use on 8mm wire with the 6mm groove? Are the wheels easily bought?

We run about 100Kg a week through wire feeders at work and they last for months.

Have you got the roller on the right way?, a lot of welders show the size to the outside but the groove in use is on the inside.

When I bought the welder it was set up with a large roll of 8mm. I bought a small roll of 6mm and changed over wire, feed roller, and tip, but the wire would'nt feed! That's when I found out it had been on the 6mm groove while using the 8mm wire. Now I have it on the right way round but it slips a bit at times, I'll try to tighten the tension till I get it right. I just need a fair bit of practice I suppose.
