CO2 & Bottle Required In Reading, Berkshire Area

Hi
Does anyone know where I can get a CO2 bottle approx 10kg that can be filled cheaply in the Berkshire and surrounding area, I have checked the gas list and it doesn’t have anything.

Also

If I get a CO2 Bottle would I be right in thinking that if I get an Argon/Co2 mix regulator it can be used for straight Co2 as well as Argon/Co2?
I’m really new at this and struggling quite a bit

The regulator fittings are different on CO2 and Ar/CO2 so you would need two regulators or an adaptor which is almost as much as another regulator. Easier to have two regulators and just swap pipe over.

I knew there was something else that I had forgotten but I couldn't put my finger on it, an "adapter"
I have read so much about all of this I am now as confused as I can get at the moment.
Yes I might just bite the bullet and get One for each as you mentioned it'll save keep swapping them over later on.

Yes I checked the new list the other day before posting, I have spoken to Harringtons and they won't sell Argon/co2 mix to the public without a contract and won't sell Co2 unless it is in a specific type of bottle a type that I can't find anywhere!

J C Donnelly & Son has a Guildford postcode so that is quite a trek for me, I would like to find somewhere close that doesn't involve a really long round trip if possible.

The Co2 Bottle and Supplier search continues, I'm getting there slowly even if it feels like 1 step forward 40 back at times, but then again nothing is ever easy when you are starting something new so its a case of head down and keep plodding along

Regulator adapter is about a tenner from machine mart.

it doesn't show a picture so hard to tell if it argon bottle to co2 reg or other way around.
i would order one of these see what thread it is then get the reg from weldequip. machine mart seems expensive for them at the moment.

basically to connect to co2 bottle you need female connector on your regulator.
to connect to argon or argon mix you need male on regulator side.

That's a good price for the adaptor, that will save me a good few quid.
I have been looking at weldequips regulator kit and will order One when I get the Co2 sorted out, hopefully quite soon.

Afaik that adapter will convert a CO2 reg to fit an argon or argonmix cylinder, you need one the other way, convert argon regulator to fit CO2 cylinder. They are available but cost almost as much as a CO2 regulator.

Ive got a full co2 bottle here, might be able to do something about the regulator too, i`ll be in Finchampstead at the weekend if thats any help. Pm if interested
