Looking at having some Emblems made up from 2mm alloy plate. Emblem is a rectangle (approx 70x26mm) with lettering cut inside. Looking to have a small batch of 10-20 made up.
Get a DXF file made up and email bomb any laser or waterjet cutters that appear in google; there's usually a few that advertise in ebay as well so worth looking there too. No idea on price really as it's a few years since I got quotes in and there's a lot more competition out there now.
And I live close http://www.lasermaster.co.uk/ so I don't have to pay any delivery charges. On something approx. that size I had cut in 3mm mild steel cost £0.65 (including the steel), so because you want to use aluminium it will be more expensive. If you can draw the item yourself that will make things cheaper.
I really cant be bothered to cut sheet metal by hand anymore.
I've used lasermaster too - they can also make your design from a bitmap outline as they have software that can convert it into the CAD drawing, so if you have a largeish outline photo of your design they can do it from that. Might add a bit to the cost, don't know. Their service was very good but they do specialise in small orders online whereas a lot of local places are more interested in volume it seems. I wanted mirror polish stainless to make trophies from and they supplied just what I wanted.
I might add I live 500 miles from them so this not an advert!
