Hello,
I am in the middle of working on a project car and am thinking of buying a MIG welder.
The first job i need it for is to alter a stainless steel exhaust, but i can see me also needing a welder for some bodywork and floor panels and other repairs.
(If it matters the car is a Rover 45 so nothing with mega thick steel)
I have a budget of up to £300 and have been looking at machine mart and these 2 stand out;
- Clarke MIG130 EN Gas/No Gas - https://www.machinemart.co.uk/p/mig130en-turbo-no-gas-mig-welder/
- Clarke Pro 90 Gas Only - https://www.machinemart.co.uk/p/pro-90-mig-welder/
Can anyone advise which would be more suitable for my needs and also the quality of each?
The MIG130 is appealing as it can do thicker steel and work without gas but perhaps thats just a gimmick? However the Pro has a lower min wattage which i understand might be better for body panels but the 90 amp max might be a bit limiting down the line?
Opinions appreciated
