They’re pretty old, seem to remember installing these in the 90’s.

We have a related one an SW, they still do bits for them & all the seals etc are standard stuff.
I took the back boiler out of ours & blanked off the holes as it had rusted through.

Has yours got 2 doors?
If so assume that one has a groove, and the other a matching v that engages as they shut?
If so has it got a rope seal in the groove like the rest of the door edges?

Left door has a raised profile which the other door has a corresponding groove to go over, if I recall correctly. Can't recall if that bit is rope sealed or not though.

Same as the one my mum has...
No manual till last night
manual is not clear regarding the seals... basically it is getting too much air
Need to check the cold gap on the thermostatic flap. According to manual its 18mm
Also need to repair the settable flap at the top as its slightly bent...
If i put anything in the grooves in the middle the rh door attempts to lift as you shut the latch

Check the air control flap doesn't have a piece of coal/coke lodged in it. It's right at the bottom, where the ash pan sits, so it's easy for something to get in there & wedge it open.

the only good reliable ones I found were made in Germany, Sweden, Norway and France.....
i brought over a big German back boiler type from France for my next build....
If the tank rots out, it's easy to make one from St/Steel providing u can get the bolts out that have rusted badly...ask me how I know......lol....
they all use the shixxest bolt known to man except the last Norwegion one I got involved with...they used brass fasteners...
but it did cost 3000euro's.....

1st thing i checked... only just been let loose on it.. aint been right for a while, bit you know what mums are like

Yes its a Two door, seal on the right hand door goes right round & goes into a corresponding groove on the left hand door.
The window glass can leak a lot as well, we find seals only last a year or two.
Damper at the back can also get stuck occasionally.

had another got at this today... flattened off the top 'idle' vent as was kinked and riveted back on
put a thinner bit of rope seal in the middle of the door join

ordered a new thermostat as after 3 hours of burning it hadn't moved

certainly slowed the burn down today, so reckon the new stat will sort it and pay for itself quite quick
