usually pretty straightforwards to be honest... might have to get parts from hire company rather than bearing co as they can be odd sizes, particularly the seals
the price of a new gearbox isn't too bad if you replace the lot
slide hammer
Getting a new bearing will not be a problem but its getting the old one out that looks the messing about part as I think it will be a case of a cut and shut job on the drum.
Is your mixer like the one above or the one below ???
if you suss it can you take fotos as my gaffer has one that needs doing and ill be gerrin the job,,, eventualy,,, im putting it off at the mo
Thats if I can remember Jay as I dont intend to do it untill sometime near winter time cause its still got to do a lot of work first , only noticed the problem today and I like to plan ahead to do things if I can.
P.S. You dont live to far from me either.
not far as the crow flies or i could walk there? lol
has yours started to slip on the gear ring yet? my gaffers has,, if it was up to me id scrap it but i have a petrol belle minimix and never use his ,,, but hes a bit of a skin flint these days
I just bought an old mixer it looks the exact same as yours but what I dont know is it a cheap Clarke mixer or is it made by Belle ? The motor is 370 watts and is an old style induction motor with ' made in Poland ' on the lable and I cant see Belle using such a low rated motor but its obviously adequate for the job ? On the outside there is a lable saying 'start your Master Mix before filling ' and I thought Master Mix was a Belle trademark ? The bearing in the centre looks to me like its been placed in position in the drum base and then the backing plate welded on to the drum ( thats with the benefit of being able to view mine closely ) so it may not be possible to replace the drum bearing and is it even a ball or roller bearing , looks to me like it may just be a large plain bearing ? The mixer shown on the Machine mart website listed as a Clarke looks identical to these .
