I've managed to crack and chip a rocker stud boss on a cast iron cylinder head. It had a 3/8 stud pressed in which was being pulled out to tap for screw in studs, it must have either been cracked already or I put some side loading on it but a piece the size of a 20p chipped off.
They're pretty rare in the UK and it's one of a pair which would be £4-500 to replace. Is there a way either welding or mechanically to fix it ? it will need to be tapped to take a stud and it'll be the pivot for a 375lb valve spring.
