Hi Everyone,
I’m concentrating on my remaining aluminium test pieces for my C&G college night class, and was hoping to confirm some settings, please. I’ve read the guides (TIG and Richard’s excellent thread) and searched on here too.
All will be on 2mm aluminium with 4043 rod (I have 1.6 and 2.4 Esab rods to use). I am using a mixture of 1.6mm White, Blue and Multi-strike tungstens that I have in my bag, ground to a blunt point. Size 8 ceramic and 7LPM gas.
Using a Lincoln with far more power and features than my to-be-set-up Sherman.
Lap: few autogenous tacks. 40A/mm = 80A 120hz
Vertical T: 80A, 120hz
Butt: 30A/mm = 30A/mm = 60A, 80hz 2.4mm gap, raised from bench surface
Pipe to plate = ???
I’m using mostly 2.4mm rod as the 1.6 rods disappear faster than I can feed them. I might try the Ez-Dabr again.
Thanks for any tips or guidance!
