Good evening Ladies and gents,
Quick question regarding penetration on car bodywork. I’ve been letting in a quarter panel on my beetle, initially I was producing some lovely flat welds with good penetration. (Used panel gap clamps for joint) However as I filled the panel in I noticed the welder changing.. wether low on gas or because of the crappy metal welds we’re getting higher and not as crispy (tack welds just to clarify). There’s a fair bit of penetration to the rear but there are a few areas were it hasn’t beaded through..
My question is this. Is there any harm in doing some tacks from the rear as it’s accessable where penetration is poor? And are a few gaps 1cm at most of poor penetration going to be a deal breaker?
Thanks in advance
