the other day me and a friend were welding. We finished a roll and installed a second one, i fed the wire to the wheel then left the wire feed to do the rest of the job to get the wire to the gun... BIG MISTAKE little did i realize the wire took a different route and went straight into the actual welder missing the tube all together. i continued to hold down the trigger expecting the wire to pop out the tip of the gun any second then suddenly i saw bright sparks coming out the side of the welder i let go of the trigger but a moment later presses it again to make sure the wire feed was still working it worked for am bout a second then just stoped.
so i pulled open the box and saw a large amount of twisted welding wire i also saw where the welding wire arched on a bolt (which created the bright spark).
i cleaned it all up and pluged it in again, the fan powered up as normal but when you press the trigger the wire feed motor does not move.
i have checked the wire feed motor with a battery and it is fine.
i have also put a small bit of welding wire in the tip of the gun and was able to make it weld so i know the welder is not completely stuffed.
the only noticeable thing in the welder was the wire speed control circuit board ( not sure of correct name)
there is a little clear box with a electro magnet in it.. i noticed that there was a small black mark on the inside of the case like a burn mark also the two little lever things that touch together when the trigger is pressed were also black.
the little clear box still seems to work as when you press the trigger you can see the little things coming into contact with each other you can also hear the coils powering up but the motor wont move.
i have already tried cleaning in between the two things inside the clear box using fine sand paper however that did no good.
please people help me here is there anything else i should check? you guys know what the problem is?
thanks all and merry christimas
