I have a chance on a Bridgeport, 2j2 head (with the round speed dial).
Haven't yet spoke to the owner but have had a quick poke around it. He has two but is keeping the better one understandably.
Metric machine, clearly well used, doesn't have the chromed ways, fair chunk of backlash in the table and saddle lead screws however they don't seem overly tight at the extremes of travel so possibly just needing the nuts adjusting or making new.
Bit of wiggle in the table, I imagine the gib needs tightened up but could be worn, scraping marks no longer evident on most of saddle ways as expected.
table looked ok, few minor apprentice marks, couldn't see under the vice however.
Rough around the edges, no quill power feed (no biggie), quill stop and screw missing, likely loads of bits and bobs needing rectified.
Let's assume no tooling.
If it's super worn the head would go nicely on my Elliot I reckon...but that's an expensive way to get a bridgie head.
Rough value? I've been told they are after £1100 which seems reasonable but Bridgeport's are a bit like myfords, I'll only pay actual value rather than perceived value because I'm Scottish.
