Bridgeport motor drive.

Any of you chaps know what I might have done to the motor drive on the bed of my Bridgeport.
It's highly possible @MattH will know what I have done as I think it was a retrofit.

But he's often busy so thought I would ask anyone of you chaps.
I removed the two bed handles of to get the mill into the garage past my cabinets and can't locate the nuts to hold them on.......they ain't metric. Lol

So I slipped the handles on each end and did a bit of cutting......which was fine till the end with the motor kept going......It stayed on the shaft but when I pushed it all back together it started to make a noise like it's out of mesh.

Any suggestions while I am waiting to see if MattH appears with the solution..lol

If the nuts aren’t on and tight there’s nothing to keep the gears in mesh.

There’s also the possibility that if it has wound itself out to far the key locking the bevel gear to the leads crew could of slipped out.

I think the second option is more likely......what threads are those nuts.

The threads are probably UNF, not in the workshop at the mo' so can't check mine.

I thought that might be the case. After a test fit today it's now apparent 32mm discs do not fit.....they now fit the slot but are too large in diameter for 18 inch. Wheels. That's what you get when you have a son who loves to beat physics...lol

So I don't think it would be wise or safe to go messing in the garage over the next couple of days.
