Hi
I changed the fluid on my car a while back and I'm sure the brakes are softer since, I have had someone else try them and they don't think they are that soft, however to me they don't have the initial bite and the pedal just doesn't feel right.
There just doesn't seem to be much feedback, if I brake reasonably hard the initial travel feels a bit woolly, but they do stop the car, they have always stopped very well before (new 320mm discs and pads not long ago)
If I pump the pedal quickly and then apply the brakes the initial bite is higher up the pedal travel and they feel more positive like how I remembered them pre fluid change, I can push hard on the pedal and there is not much movement and good resistance.
Trouble is next time I apply the brakes they are back to being a bit woolly in the first bit of travel and if i push hard on them the pedal sinks a bit without such firm feedback.
Fluid was changed with a pressure bleeder, given the above probs I bled them again plus the clutch, but the problem persists. With the ignition off the pedal will pump up solid.
Any ideas what could be causing this problem?
Master cylinder has been suggested to me but it was fine pre fluid change and the pedal wasn't pushed too far during the bleed as a pressure bleeder was used and the pedal wasn't touched.
Cheers
