I collected my bargain Boxford VM30 mill this evening from my mate Peter. As I mentioned in the "today I aquired" thread I wasn't sure if it had a dual voltage motor. Thankfully it does, which will make powering it alot simpler and cheaper.
The machine has come from a teaching environment; school or college i presume going by the guarding on the table. It has also sustained some minor damage to the top pulley cover, motor casing and 2 of the handles have been broken.
the table X & Y movements are all smooth with minimal backlash felt and the table lowering and raising is nice and smooth as well.
There is a milling vice and some tooling/cutters in the cabinet. Once I enlist some help to get it off the trailer and into the workshop I'll get a better look st what needs doing and what tooling I have with it.
All in all, its an absolute bargain at £100 and its a solid little mill that will get me going.
