Good afternoon...
I found a post recently [which i now cant find] in which someone had an ADR 300 Arc/tig {portable!} welding unit i have added some pictures of mine below [which is the 200-the difference is?]:
Anyway the fella with the adr 300 said he had managed to get it working on 240v single phase.
Just as a bit of extra info on the front of the unit it has the usual 1 phase at 380/430 written on the front. On the top picture the output transformer has 380/430 written on it.. [the one on the right]
I have done a large amount of reading on this forum and other places and realise the technicalities of using another phase out of phase as it were to get the higher potential e.g 400 odd volts. But obviously i don't have 3 phase!
Anyway i fall back to my original question how/ or can i use it on single phase..on the left of the picture you can see various jumpers or links, which in other posts on other welders people have changed to allow different voltages.
Also the solenoid at the bottom has x6 links x2 of them un-used which it says on the side are for 230v operation .
I had started playing with what i was referring to as the main output transformer on the left, and taking measurements... however i thought yesterday Im barking up the wrong tree, as the output of the soleniod seems to be bumping up the voltage from 230 odd to about 300 anyway, my current hunch is its something to do with the other transfomer on the left! ?
If anyone has one of these or anything similar or any knowledge i'd be forever greatful!
P.s just also found a link for an adr 300 on ebay...http://cgi.ebay.com/AIRCO-%2F-BOC-ADR-300-TIG-Welder-w%2F-300-amp-Torch-&-Accs_W0QQitemZ160341662757QQcmdZViewItemQQimsxZ20090613?IMSfp=TL090613232005r7412 the guy here says that it has a step up / down transformer..although again i am a 200
