Hi guys...
got a project going for my new to me e91 wagon....Its an e36 trailer made from the back half of an e36 325i sedan....
I will be needing some help and advise as Im getting close to mapping out where and how Im going to weld all the different parts of the trailer.
The doors will be able to open....the tops of the doors will be filled in with rectangular panels and feature a rain channel of some sort...
I will need to figure out how to make a filler piece between where the trunk ends and the tonneau cover begins. It has to be water tight
a little sketch:
I first got the whole car stripped down and ready for making my first cuts:
the yellow tape is where I had planned to make my cuts, but later revised them a bit to smooth out the transition from the trunk to the doors.....
So this is where Im at right now...Im planning on cutting the floor tonight so I can get the front of the car out of the way. This way I can get in there with the welder and not have to crawl into the car every time....
I would love some feedback and advise on how best to approach the welding....What should i do first?..weld the doors?...make the front panel?...ect....
I guess I should cut out everything that is coming out first then begin my welding.....
Also, the trailer tongue (2x3x72 rectangular tubing 3/16) will be added in there too at some point so I can move it around and get it out of the garage...
more later, thanks for looking!
