That just a heat gun?
Yep and manages to hold it at a steady 150C inside thereThat just a heat gun?
Yeah it's what I plan to do - but normally I get the top layer of paint and a few thou off the embossed part machined off on a mill which leaves a fantastic finish - and this is what the customer requested. However it's not possible due to the bow in the part.Could you not use something like a small sanding block or file. It really doesn't matter much if this is flat or not; it's just for looks.
Here you go:@onthames would love to see a how to on using Cerakote
I think it has to be a special type plastic (polypropylene if I recall correctly) or apparently the plastic will react with the cerakote - I'm sure if you phone them they'll tell you what plastic is suitable for a gun cup.Excellent write up.
It would be worth a thread on its own in the paint section so it doesn't get lost.
Do you know why they recommend a metal paint pot?
It not so easy to get a metal pot for my small gun and I don't want to buy another.
Seems odd when they supply the product in plastic jars.
Huge batch of parts arrived to restore for a customer... Lot of work
A week of actual work and in total a bit longer as have to wait for parts from Germany and the zinc plater company etc. Unfortunately someone's been at a few of bits already and made it a little more time consuming for me (for instance spray painting the alternator when it's completely assembled, with no masking) . A few bits of it are beyond restoration (master cylinders for instance, the bores are heavily pitted and wouldn't trust for safety reasons). How long will that lot take [roughly]?
