This time, not my wagon...for a change!
1992 Pajero, 2.5td LWB.
Noticed a loss of power taking it for an MOT at the beginning of the week, but thought nothing of it as it had been stood for 6 weeks while I welded it up, and swapped the front suspension.
Until today, towing a trailer to pick some more beet up, noticed it was well down on power, so pulled in to check a few bits over under the bonnet.
Started to run as rough as a badgers backside, then cut out. Now, it’ll turn over but not fire, so it’s not cambelt, or a major timing issue. Doesn’t look like oil in water, but I haven’t dropped the oil to check the other way. Full tank of diesel too.
Thinking it could be injection pump is shot, or well out of timing, or the turbo has given up..
Any opinions from the forum collective?
Mini checklist I’ve made;

Mini checklist I’ve made;
- Crack fuel rail off at each injector to check for fuel delivery
- Cambelt covers off to check timing marks
- Drop oil and change along with filter
- New air and fuel filters
- Can of petrol and box of matches
