Thanks for those comments, but note that I'm only working with a few inches. My usual routine works... adequately, but wondered if there's a better way?
alternative is drill round holes through seperarte pieces of wood and screw them together you need about a foot long so you can fasten it in a vice
no you want 10.5mm drill bit for 10mm as it will straighten it out pretty wellYes; two pieces of wood with a hole between them, maybe 9mm diameter, and just give the pipe a good "cuddle"? Thanks, I will investigate.
This is only a very occasional requirement so there's "not much" of a budget for it .
I used both these methods, works perfectly and no messing around making wooden dies etc.Hi, For only a few inches then get it mostly straight then lay it on a flat surface, then a piece of plywood or similar on top and roll it backwards and forwards. For longer lengths pinch one end in a vice and a pair of mole grips on the other end and then strike the mole grips away from the vice with a hammer. This obviously sacrifices the ends of the pipe.
