Had a bit of a close call with wifey’s horse the other week. As she was offloading him from the trailer he put his foot through the ramp!
Fortunately he wasn’t injured but obviously the ramp needed replacing and she was very worried about the integrity of the rest of the “buffalo board” type floor.
I had a poke around with a bradawl and found a few soft spots so we decided the best course of action was to replace the whole floor.
The damage:
Rubber mat removed, rotten as hell!
Old panel removed:
New one fitted including new rubber mat:
Old floor removed. Pig of a job getting all the old screws out but they all came out in the end.
Ran out of daylight so fitting the replacement plastic and steel floor will now have to wait until next weekend.
I have say, Bateson Trailers are so friendly and easy to deal with and they still stock everything for older trailers like ours.
