The week before last I posted a link to this:

    Rivett 608

Sold today for £32! Please tell me someone here got it.

Hard to believe that if it was something like a poxy ML4 it would probably have made 5 times as much and here we have a Rivett 608 sold for a measly £32. I was keeping an eye on it myself but didn't want to bid up another member plus I couldn't really spare the time to drive to Lincoln to collect it but somebody somewhere is very happy tonight I think.

I think the pickup was the problem, certainly not the price!

Snow made the best surface and way grinders out there.
That’s a old one, mechanical not hydraulic.
I reckon £350 is its money

There’s very little info to be found about their machines, for the reputation they had.

Another one that got away, reminds me of about 6 years ago when i spotted an advert for two Rivett 608s for sale on home workshop. I managed to get in first did the deal, Offered to pay a deposit, "No that will be fine they are yours" So i arranged to pick them up at the weekend bringing pound notes with me. It was a long drive but well worth it, Car & trailer loaded up ready to go, Phoned the guy the night before to confirm i was coming, "Oh sorry i sold them to the clearance man, didnt think you really wanted them". My reply was unprintable. Grrrrr!
