Did you finally source some-one to make it or did a new old stock turn up from the depths of some ex-MoD warehouse.
I am fairly sure we had one of those at RAF Ouston Gliding in the 1960's. Used with a light trailer attached for glider recovery within the airfield perimeter.
Either that or it had the front diff and/or drive shaft removed.
We were told very forcefully never to take it beyond the peri track and mowed grass.
We had a truly ancient Austin 4x4 ambulance for towing the winch.
