I've just driven the Aston up and down the driveway for the first time since I started this 6 month sill project. (That was 20 months ago.) It seems to work so next an MOT next.
I took the project on while things were really quiet in my normal work. Of course things immediately picked up and I've had no time to do anything of my own for the last year. It'll be a relief to have this one completed and have some free time again.
But I've learned a lot of things on the project. There's been a load of steel welding, and my steel welding has really improved - it's actually neat these days. Also it's given me the chance to have a bash at aluminium MIG welding which worked out OK.
There's more on the Aston Blog.
But I wouldn't do one again. Too fiddly. I'm looking forward to fiddling with the Renault 4s I've just picked up on eBay.
