Bit of fun.. was reading a bit about the NASA satellite heading off to the sun for a serious singing and one of the objectives is to try and explain the massive difference in temperature from the surface (20,000C) compared to the outer corona (1-2 million C)
A scientist involved on the project described it like walking away from a camp fire and getting hotter - bit rubbish :-) The physics involved is mind boggling, from a brew room opinion, the object of the heat is not necessarily as hot as the gases around it is it..
