what I want to know is can I just plug an xbox controller into my laptop and have it work straight away.

I only play 2-3 games, far cry 3, sniper elite v2 and gta4. used to have them on xbox along with a few forza discs but that died and I gave it away

im fed up of needed a mouse to play games as the built in mousepad is crap for fps

Im a playstation man my self, used to have a 360 and to use the pad on a pc i had to get a driver for the pad. i was a big gamer untill about 6 months ago, think i just grew out of it...... at 34! I set up my work shop and started doing woodwork and basic fabrication and just havent had much time for it. Id google 360 pad drivers, unless someone knows better.

cheers. Ive never really been into that much, I was into ps2 when I was a teenager, the likes of gta3 and a few racing games, now its just fps mainly to pass the time while the baby has a nap or ive got nothing else to do lol

im sure I can find a driver somewhere for it if it needs one, will buy a pad and see what happens

Install drivers and just plug it in.
It does actualy work without the drivers too but there was something that didnt work right without them (I dont actualy remember what though, been a while).

Last game I played was wwe 2k14, not much of gamer, my ps3 gets used more for iplayer and youtube lol.
