If your looking for someone with a cnc lathe ideally you need to find someone set up for small part turning, on a big machine those bits will disappear down the swarf conveyor.issue is time. i thought with a CNC Lathe it could cut several in one go.
Not really the type of thing I do (quantities) , don't have a bar feed and with such a small dia only a few could be done before I would need to advance the bar which would mean I would be standing babysitting the lathe.
Nope, don't mind at all but as said not really the type of thing I do. Was going to make myself up a bar puller but decided against it for that very reason. Also the chuck takes a min dia of 20mm so for smaller stuff it needs soft jaws or I chuck up the collet chuck. It is manual however so takes an age to open and close compared to hydraulics.I didn't think you had bar feeding on your machine but wasn't too sure. Hope you didn't mind me mentioning your name.
100 minimum was mentioned.Out of interest what sort of quantities and what tolerances.
What price should they be?I did the one to see if it was viable time wise but because the material was quite hard and my lathe is only a baby that I never like pushing that took me 15mins to turn down to size from 304 tube. It wasn't happy parting it off either so in those quantities it's not for me or giz. If I was to start Charging him my full hourly rate on those it would come to over £5 a piece and given I have a full time job he wouldn't get them quickly.
I guessed that.....lol. but what would a cnc supplier charge. As cheap as possible ideally.
