The price difference between hot rolled mild steel and annealed bright steel is hefty.
So I was wondering has anyone contemplated or fabricated a tool to easily remove mill scale from lengths of flat, round and square bar.
I'm thinking maybe a pair or contra-rotating rollers with springs to hold them on the surface of the material while allowing it to take varying thicknesses. Like an old fashioned clothes mangle, only with spinning abrasive rollers.
Anyone ever thought about something like this?
